Sometimes you may want events to be blocked out on multiple calendars or have events sync in both directions. While LifeWork wasn't specifically designed for this use case, it is possible to do so using these steps.

Note that these scenarios may not always work in the future, may impact some functionality (including use of our Slack integration), and may have unintended consequences. We've tested the following scenarios and have ensured that they work, but not all edge cases have been tested.

This document assumes that you've already set up LifeWork Calendar to block events on your work calendar as shown in the diagram below:

Syncing the same personal calendar to multiple work calendars

You can have personal events sync to multiple work calendars by following these steps.

  1. Open an Incognito window in Chrome to ensure your LifeWork Calendar session is cleared.
  2. Go to the LifeWork Calendar Signup page and login using the second work email that you'd like to sync events to. This will effectively create a different account with LifeWork Calendar.
  3. Go through the onboarding. When prompted, connect your second work calendar and then connect the same personal calendar that you used in your first account's onboarding.
  4. Finish the onboarding. You will now see personal events flow to both work calendars.

Syncing multiple personal calendars to the same work calendar

  1. Open an Incognito window in Chrome to ensure your LifeWork Calendar session is cleared.
  2. Go to the LifeWork Calendar Signup page and login using the second personal email that you'd like to sync events from. This will effectively create a different account with LifeWork Calendar.
  3. Go through the onboarding. When prompted, connect your second personal calendar and then connect the same work calendar that you used in your first account's onboarding.
  4. Finish the onboarding. You will now see personal events flow to the same work calendar from multiple personal calendars.

Syncing events in both directions

You can have events sync in both directions by following these steps:

  1. Open an Incognito window in Chrome to ensure your LifeWork Calendar session is cleared.
  2. Go to the LifeWork Calendar Signup page and login using a different email than the one you used originally. This will effectively create a different account with LifeWork Calendar. Do not use either of the emails associated with your personal or work calendars.
  3. Go through the onboarding. When prompted for your work email, connect the personal calendar that you used in your first onboarding. If you have trouble getting the Sign Up With Google button to show up, type everything up to .co and the button will appear.
  4. On the next step, when prompted for your personal email, connect the work calendar that you used in your first onboarding.
  5. Finish the onboarding. Events will now flow in both directions.

Caveats

  • We do not support daisy-chaining calendars (e.g., Personal Calendar -> Work Calendar 1 -> Work Calendar 2). Personal event blocks created by LifeWork will not show up on Work Calendar 2 and will be ignored.
  • The above scenarios may end up limiting your functionality or creating unintended issues. If you run into serious problems or believe the service isn't working, drop us a line.

Sharing your free/busy time across multiple calendars

Once you've gotten multiple calendars linked, you may want to share your Free/Busy time with others across all of your calendars. For this, we recommend using a service like Calendly, which allows you to connect multiple calendars to show combined availability.
